On August 14, 2001, we were blessed with the addition of our first baby girl, Breanna Rose. Early on, Breanna was not meeting her milestones. So, after an exhaustive search, we found out that Breanna suffered from a rare disease called Dystonia.
Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder, in which sustained painful muscle contractions cause twisting and repetitive movements or abnormal postures. In terms of Breanna , she is a normal 11 year old girl stuck in a body that will not obey her commands. Her muscles do not know how to interpret the message her brain sends. As a result, she cannot sit up, roll over, crawl, walk or simply grab a toy.
We have tried every treatment available, from medication to Brain Surgery and thus far nothing has worked. It has been a long and difficult road, and there is no cure for her disease. However, it is our hope and faith that someday Breanna will be able to control her body, that gets us through.
We truly think Breanna is a gift from God. Her heart is overflowing with love and kindness and even on her worst days, all she wants to do is give you a hug.
Both Breanna and her wheelchair have become too heavy to lift into our vehicle. We have no choice but to purchase a vehicle that is handicapped accessible. Sadly, we cannot afford one. We are a single income family and all of our money goes to the expenses associated with Breanna’s care.
A new vehicle will go a long way to reduce the stress on our on our situation, both physical and monetarily.
Please vote for our little princess.
Thank you for your kind support.
