Hi this is my 10 year old son Taylor. Taylor was a twin born at 28 weeks he was all of 2 lbs 2 oz. His twin brother Tyler passed away just 4 days after birth. Taylor started out his life fighting for survival. Just a few moments after he was born he was already on a flight for life yes they put my baby on a helicopter and flew him 2 hrs away from me. After a 3 month stay in the NICU with good days and bad my very little baby came home. 3 months old and 5 lbs with a heart monitar and oxygen. At 18 months Taylor was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy, Failure to thrive, and Developmental delays. This was a life changing event for my family. I was 24 at that time and had four children ages 6,4,3 and 18 months. I was very unsure about our days to come. I quickly became a busy mother with doctors I have never heard of and therapists of all kinds. At age 3 Taylor started school. He was wheelchair bound and non verbal but had and still has a smile that melts your heart. I am so blessed to have Taylor he is such a great kid. Taylor has made it threw many surgery’s and is a very strong kid. He is now age 10 and in the 4th grade. He has a wonderful sence of humor, a beautiful smile and a loving heart.I wouldn’t change anything about him. Taylor loves people, music and being outdoors. I want to have the ability to take him more places to let him see the world. At this time we dont own a running vehicle. It is very hard to get him to his appointments and he has many. Some of them are hours away. Taylor would greatly benefit from the use of a van that can adapt to carry him in his wheelchair. This would also be beneficial to Taylor’s safety as he is getting too big for a car seat. Thank you all for taking time to read our story. Taylor is our superman!!!
