Hi, my name is Sharon Black. I am 57 years old, I was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease. This causes multiple fractures. I am a small lady of about 3 feet tall, and I have never walked. I was in and out of the hospital having surgery on my legs. The surgery, however, was not successful! I want very much to be independent and I have succeeded. I have a power chair to get around in. I live on my own. I drive, a licensed diver for 26 years. I have a part-time job. I do my own house cleaning, shopping and fixing meals. I volunteer at my church, etc. To win this van would mean so much to me. Because with out a van, I am totally dependent on someone else for everything: food, grocery shopping and doctors appointments. I love being independent; it helps me to deal with the situation. Winning this van would mean a lot! This vehicle will make it so much easier for me. It will give me peace of mind, I don’t have to worry about getting around and I am getting older and I want to enjoy life!
